It should be an easy rule to follow - don't bang your boss...But I didn't know who he was when I met him.
And the first time I saw him, our connection sounded like the stuff of romantic legends -- that whole "their eyes locked across a crowded room" moment that turned into more.
I didn’t believe it. . . . until it happened to me.
Fine, the charming, clever, sexy-as-sin guy in the tailored suit was only trying to buy the same Snoopy lunchbox (as a gift!), but still, our eyes totally locked, and my lady parts definitely tingled as we vied for the prize.
Naturally, I did what any badass business woman would do. Negotiated for the lunchbox, then found my what-if guy online and made plans to see him the next night.
One night only -- that was the deal we made.
But one fantastic night had us both changing our minds in the morning. And making plans for another.
Until I walked into the office to learn he just bought my company.
And here’s the biggest rule of romantic legends -- no matter what, don’t bang your boss.
Especially if you’re already falling for him.

Sweet and Sexy Single Dad Romance
The “What If Guy” is a forbidden, single-dad, office romance with all the swoon, sweetness, and sexiness expected from a Lauren Blakely rom-com. This is book two in the “Guys Who Got Away” series, and although it can be read as a stand-alone, I loved the first book, “Dear Sexy Ex Boyfriend,” and visiting Summer and Oliver and all of their friends in this wonderful addition to the series. The “What If Guy” features Logan Clarke, Summer’s twin brother, and Bryn Hawthorne. I loved their first meeting as they both eyed a certain lunchbox, each wanting it for different reasons. Lauren writes in such a way that my cheeks hurt from smiling as I so enjoyed their witty banter, flirty nature, and knowing what they were thinking the other the entire time. They had an instant connection but didn’t get each other’s contact information, and that is where the fun begins. I so loved what they wrote to try and re-connect and find each other using an app, and how they didn’t hold anything back. Both are older and divorced, and I liked their directness and vulnerability putting them selves out there again. It’s not easy as each have been hurt before, and when she finds out her secret Mr. Smolder is her new boss, they both need to re-examine their relationship and decide if it’s worth the risk. This is a Lauren Blakely novel so you know that you’re in for an adventure. I love how strong Bryn is, and how she was able to ask for what she wants in her career and in the bedroom, and how she didn’t play games. She was also brilliant at her job as a VP of a lifestyle media group, and a great team leader respected by her peers. She was easy going, and sentimental about her mother who had passed away. Logan was so supportive and thoughtful, giving her his full attention when they were together, and validating what was important to her. I loved him! Logan’s six-year old daughter was adorable and my heart swelled knowing he was a devoted dad. He was smart and successful in the business world, but valued his family time. I loved how he would tell Bryn how special she was and how he enjoyed spending time with her, and not just because of their explosive chemistry and compatibility. Their continuing to flirt through written words were some of my favorite parts of this sexy story, and kept their libido alive and well! This is a delightful, heartwarming tale of two people connecting and given a second chance at happiness. Looking forward to the next installment, “A Guy Walks into My Bar,” featuring their friend Fitz finding love in London.

Review: The Guys Who Got Away 2: The What If Guy
The What If Guy by Lauren Blakely is the second book in her latest series, The Guys Who Got Away . A story of an office romance mixed with single dad story line. Bryn is a successful business woman who knows what she wants, is good to everyone and is just what single-dad Logan never knew he was looking for. Logan is a single-dad with a desire to be with someone honest and real, who knows what she wants and isn't afraid to ask for it. When these two meet by kismet over a struggle for a Snoopy lunchbox their fates are forever intertwined. Too bad they didn't know that they had more in common than Snoopy, mainly the lifestyle blog that Bryn is content manager for that Logan just purchased. Told in mostly dual POV from Bryn and Logan we do get a few small chapters from their feline companions Bruce and Queen LT. Enjoy!

MUST READ!
The What If Guy was so much fun to read. Bryn and Logan meet over an old school lunchbox in a game of who can outwit the other to get the prize. Each has their reasons for wanting this particular lunchbox. After some witty banter and some intense chemistry, Logan must leave and Bryn walks away with the purchase. What they both learn is that they were hoping to spend more time with the other even after such a small exchange in the quirky gift shop. With a push from their friends, they each look for one another using a new APP. They reconnect and find that they really enjoy each other's company in many ways. Their first date and hot and steamy night together lead to the promise of a second date. Logan and Bryn quickly find out that they might have to cool the dating and remain friends. Lauren Blakely's The What If Guy is a story full of flirting, romance, and friendship that has you rooting for the couple from the very beginning. If you are looking to read a romantic comedy look no further, this book will have you reading with a smile on your face and a renewed hope that love can conquer all.

I can’t get enough
Lauren Blakely can sure write some sexy, passionate, hot scenes. Logan and Bryn were fire. Their chemistry was explosive. I completely devoured this book and may have gone back and re-read some very naughty scenes :) I enjoyed this book so much. One of the things I loved is the different factors that played into Logan and Bryn connecting. From their first encounter with the Snoopy Lunch Box, to their post on missed connections, to Logan being Bryn's new boss. These two were absolutely meant to connect at some point in their lives. This was a somewhat "love at first sight" type of story but it was so brilliantly written that it doesn't seem like an "insta-love." There was so much character development. We got to experience the progression of Logan and Bryn's relationship from strangers to lovers to friends to more intense lovers, to boss/employee to forbidden lovers to taking a chance, risking it all and falling in love. Logan and Bryn were perfect for each other. They were very comfortable with one another. They were honest and were not afraid of communicating their desires. I loved that they talked about different things in their lives (their past, their lost, their gains, their goals). This all played such a huge factor in their level of comfort and allowed them to express themselves emotionally and physically. I cannot get enough of this interconnecting world Lauren Blakely has created. Every story gives us more than the story between the two main characters. We get their families and friends and there is so much interaction that gets us excited for more. I cannot wait for the next book in the series. **I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.**

Another hit by Lauren Blakely!
Another hit by Lauren Blakely! I loved the “What If” storyline. Logan and Bryn’s banter is witty, flirty and on fire! Their chemistry is sizzling hot! Bruce and Queen LaTofu were highlights in this story. I highly recommend this book!

Hilarious!!
Eyes meet over a lunch box and the connection is instantaneous but the opportunity is missed. Enter the Missed Connections app and Bryn and Logan fund each other again. They are compatible in every way, seemingly completely perfect for each other. Until after the best night ever, they find out that Logan is Bryan's new boss. I felt so much disappointment when Logan walked in as the new CEO of The Dating Pool because I knew he was going to be the good guy and do the right thing. What cured my disappointment was the friendship that Logan and Bryn built while they were trying to deny that they belonged together. And the cats!!! Queen LaTofu and Bruce served as comic relief while their owners were getting it together. This series is funny, packs some heat, and has so much heartwarming romance. I'm counting the days until Fitz's story.

No what if about it - I loved this book!
I love Lauren Blakely rom-coms! I laughed out loud right away at the beginning this book and continued to do so until the end! Logan and Bryn had a such an original meet-cute! They had sparks from their first meeting, and it continued during their first date and after (if you know what I mean). They not only had chemistry but connection on other levels. They were planning a second date when they find out he’s her new boss (that’s in the blurb, not a spoiler). They agree they can’t romantically see each other again, but the spark and connection had already been made. Logan was a “hot, clever, dominant yet still sweet” man, and I adored him! He deserved happiness after what his ex did. He was in the dark after his divorce, and Bryn helped bring light back into his life. Bryn also deserved happiness after what her ex did to her. She was smart, clever, spoke her mind, went after what she wanted, and I adored her too! Can they make it work after they find out he’s her new boss? Read this enjoyable, laugh out loud, sweet, sexy rom-com and find out! I recommend it! *I received an advanced copy of this ebook for my honest review.*

Perfect RomCom!!
This book definitely checked off all my RomCom boxes and so much more!! Yes it's super fun, flirty and full of humor like all Ms. Blakely's RomComs; but this one is also very sexy and verrrryyyyy hot and steamy!! Like pour a bucket of ice over me and turn the fan on steamy!!! Five Alarm Fire Hot!! It was my absolute pleasure to listen to this Audiobook!! It is amazing! The incredible voice acting of the extremely talented Joe Arden and Andi Arndt as Logan and Bryn brought this already perfect story to life in a way that put it way over the top in the must listen category!! And because it is done as duet narration it is even better because it’s like real time interactions between the character. Joe’s voice is just so sexy and a real treat for the ears. All of his emotions and passion come through so clearly in his performance. I love Andi’s voice too and the fun flirty sexy and sassy Bryn comes through loud and clear. Logan and Bryn are more perfectly matched than they ever could have imagined and have a super adorable meet-cute that goes beyond the first in person interaction. They have so much in common and are alike in all the ways that matter for a successful relationship! The fact that Logan is a charming, smart, sexy, successful single dad to a sweet and smart little girl (Amelia) and he also wears Clark Kent glasses to read is a huge bonus. That's like my personal kryptonite! Pun intended. I just adore him!! And Bryn is amazing too! She is also very smart, driven, caring and fun. I love her! I also love that they are both cat people and treat them like the family members they are. And Bruce and Queen LaTofu? Well they are just a double bonus. I love their chapters!! Santino Fontana voices Bruce and Emma Wilder does queen LaTofu. They are so good!! As a cat owner myself, I often wonder what mine are thinking and what they would say if they could talk. So cute and fun!! I read the book first but listening to it brought it to a whole new level of awesomeness!!! So yeah, I loved everything about this book from sweet beginning to the HEA that Bryn and Logan so deserve; topped off by phenomenal voice acting!!

The What If Guy is forbidden, fun and deliciously hot! Bryn and Logan’s mutual love for Snoopy brings them together, but finding out Logan is Bryn’s new boss just might tear them apart before they even really begin. The attraction and chemistry between them is out of this world. The harder they try to stay apart the more the are drawn to the other. I loved their banter, back and forth texts and mutual love of their cats. The cats alone will keep a smile on your face. I absolutely loved this book!

Fun, flirty, and all fire
Readers. This was was all sparks and fire from the start! Like, deep breath, heart-racing storytelling at its best! Bryn and Logan sizzle and scorch in this honest, lovely and sexy story. He’s a single dad, she’s been burned in the past...they both don’t know if they can trust a relationship again... but the chemistry is purely undeniable! Plus, Lauren adds in some fun chapter perspectives! I won’t give it away! But, you’re going to fall in love with this one! Squeal, eeek, fan girl screams at The What If Guy!!!

Playful, sweet, and spicy
The What If Guy was a fun, sweet, playful, and spicy story. Logan and Bryn were great characters and I loved their meet cute. I enjoyed Logan and Bryn's amusing and hot chemistry and banter. It really made the story that much more pleasant. They made sense together and it was fascinating to see how they would navigate through everything. Logan was such a sweet dad to his daughter-loved the moments we got with them. And the friend group was truly amazing. I was laughing and smiling whenever they interacted together. Lauren's books are always a win for me-amazing characters, awesome storyline, amazing writing, and the right combo of sweet, fun, and hot moments. The What If Guy had it all and I was completely engaged from beginning to end. Excited to read more from this friend group!

The What If Guy starts off with one of my favorite meet-cutes which immediately had me in love with this story....and I was barely through the first chapter! I loved everything about this deliciously fun, sexy office-romance/ forbidden-love/ single-dad story. It had all of the ingredients I crave in a story: a swoon-worthy adoring single dad who will make your ovaries pop, a smart, driven independent heroine, instant chemistry, supremely sexy times, witty banter and lots of laughs. Lauren Blakely once again delivered the perfect rom-com that readers will adore. Logan is the perfect book boyfriend! I fell hard for this sexy single dad. He ticks every one of my boxes and had me swooning throughout. And don't even get me started on his adorable daughter! Amelia was the cutest and her relationship with her dad was precious. He was attentive, dedicated, loving and fun---the perfect dad! I was envious of Bryn not only because of Logan but also because she's so in tune with her body. She speaks her mind and asks for what she wants. And I just adored her love of all things kitschy! It was so fun! Together Logan and Bryn had incredible chemistry. Try as they might, they never could stay far away from one another. I loved everything about their relationship from the moment they first connected to the perfect happy ending that these two richly deserved. Sigh......talk about swoon! Don't miss this amazing story that quickly jumped up the ranks as one of my favorite Blakely books. You'll love every minute of it! 5 stars

5 stars
